A healthy scalp provides the best foundation for a successful lightening service. Before your appointment, please:

• Avoid washing your hair for 72 hours as this will allow your natural scalp oils to provide additional protection.

• Protect your scalp from sunburn before your appointment.

• Avoid scratching your scalp or vigorous brushing immediately before your visit.

• If possible, avoid intense exercise immediately before your appointment, as perspiration may increase scalp sensitivity.

• Tell your stylist about any recent medications, previous colour services, home colouring products, allergies or previous reactions to hair colour.

If your scalp has cuts, sores, irritation, inflammation or sunburn, your stylist will assess whether it is safe to proceed. In some circumstances, we may recommend postponing your appointment until your scalp has fully recovered.

Before every lightening service we will assess:

• Hair history and previous colouring

• Hair condition and strength

• Scalp health

• Current home haircare routine

• Maintenance requirements

• Whether your desired result can be achieved safely in one appointment or whether a gradual lightening plan would better protect your hair.

Your comfort and safety are our priority throughout your service.

We use professional salon products and follow manufacturer guidelines for all on-scalp lightening services. Every application is carefully monitored by your stylist to ensure your hair develops safely and evenly.

It is normal to experience:

• A gentle warming sensation

• Mild tingling

• Slight itching as the lightener begins to work

However, if you experience significant discomfort, burning or excessive heat, please let your stylist know immediately so we can assess and adjust your service if required.

When maintaining blonde hair, great care is taken to apply lightener only to new regrowth wherever possible, helping to protect previously lightened hair from unnecessary damage.

The first few days following your appointment are important for both your scalp and your hair.

We recommend:

• Waiting at least 48 hours before shampooing where possible.

• Washing with lukewarm rather than very hot water.

• Using professional salon-recommended shampoo and conditioner.

• Limiting excessive heat styling during the first week after your appointment.

• Using heat protection whenever blow drying or styling your hair.

Blonde hair naturally requires additional moisture, so regular conditioning treatments are essential to maintain softness, strength and shine.
